And thanks to you who have written Amazon on that issue, thanks to the Applevis people for their petition. You people got it done.

You know it is interesting why they don't try to get the actual Kindle setup, but I suppose if you've already got an iPad or iPhone.... Lol

who cares about the actual kindle. That's amazon's problem that they don't want it to be accessible. Now I have the best of both worlds. And screw the actual kindle, I say. lol

Android is the company who created the Kindle?

no, amazon makes the kindle.
android is an operating system made by google.

Thanks. I knew something didn't sound right from how I interpreted it. Then again I'm sick and tired but I digress.

It is quite essential not to mix up between Androy and Kindel. Kindel is from Amazon, and they do have an EReader available. But Kindel, by all means, does not represent Androy, or vise verser.

Indeed, it is great that Kindel app for IOS is finally, accessible for voiceover. It is a great step from Amazon, although, it is kind of a little too late, in my view. Specially, if you consider Ibooks is kind of fully accessible from the way go.

However, by saying that, it is better to be late than never i guess.

Yes, a big shout out to applevis.com, and to all the book lovers that make this happen.

I'm so glad they finally did this. Though I'm not a fan of Voiceover's reading, it's far better than most synthasizers I've ehard, and the app actually works quite well. You can even highlight and use the dictionary function, and that really surprised me. Only thing I can't really figure out is how to return to the book from the actions menu when you click on a word.

If you had a braille display you could read them in braille as well.

Can any of you tell me how to use this app? I downloaded it and I am having trouble. I can not figure out how to download a book. I look up a author or title and I keep getting the same results. It tells me Can not find your query, something like that.

I've not used it, but you'd have to sign in to Amazon and buy a book first I'd think. After the book was downloaded, you should be able to read it then?
That is just a suggestion based on other apps useage.

Books have to be bought and doenloaded from a browser. You can have them delivered directly to the IDivice. I bought a book using Safari on the iPhone and it came directly to the amazon kindle app. Be sure to install the app first. Unfortunately, this is due to apples in app purchacing policy.

I wonder if the Amazon app would do it. I have that app on my phone as well.

And the sadness continues: You can't purchase them from the amazon app. I tried this and it said couldn't download or something forget the exact wording. it has to be done from the Amazon site and a browser.

On a different note, I ahve two questions for anyone who knows.

1. Is there a way to modify the punctuation Voiceover speeks? Not some, none or all, but can I make it say quotes without doing periods, exclamation marks and apostrophes? I find it really difficult to read a novel with voiceover, because you basically have to do it in say-all mode. So figuring out who's talking is just a trial.

2. Does anyone know exactly how to select a word or phrase you want to highlight or make a note of? I know you can hold down your finger, but every time I do it it always selects the word I "don't" want. I want to use the dictionary, but I can never seem to land on it. These two things are my only complaints. otherwise the app is great.
